Alignments: Station and Offset

SiteVision supports the display of the user's current position in terms of Alignment Station and Offset values. This refers to the distance along the Alignment (Station or Chainage) and the perpendicular distance from the Alignment (Offset). This is a common way to refer to positions when working on linear projects such as roads or railways.

SiteVision supports the display of Station and Offset for Alignments exported from Trimble Business Center that contain the following objects:

Horizontal Alignment (HAL)
- Line
- Arc
- Spiral In*
- Spiral Out*
- Combining Spiral*
  
  *Important: Only transition spirals of Type: Clothoid are supported
Vertical Alignment (VAL)
- Grade Break
- Symmetrical Vertical Curve
- Vertical Curve

NOTE – Station Equations defined in Trimble Business Center are also supported, and Station values will be calculated on the basis of these Station Equations.
